Peri-implantitis: prevention strategies and treatment techniques

Peri-implantitis, through the progression of the infectious-inflammatory process that characterises it, leads to the destruction of the implant-supporting tissues. Various measures can be implemented to prevent this condition; however, once the disease is established, it is necessary to control the peri-implant infection and, based on the morphology of the bone defects, determine the appropriate surgical approach—resective, regenerative, or combined.

During the lecture, the criteria for selecting the most appropriate surgical technique will be illustrated, along with step-by-step clinical protocols and the expected treatment outcomes.
