Second classes in growing patients
Class II skeletal malocclusion due to mandibular retrusion is a widespread problem in the population. For this reason, various functional appliances, both removable and fixed, are widely used in young patients, with the aim of promoting greater mandibular growth and thus restoring a correct sagittal relationship. As aesthetic demands among adolescents have increased in recent years, efforts have been made to achieve maximum aesthetics and comfort from the removable devices offered. This is primarily aimed at increasing patient compliance, a crucial factor in the success of treatment. With this in mind, the University of Ferrara's School of Specialization developed the F22 Young, a device that combines the aesthetic characteristics of clear aligners with the structural features of the Twin Block. The appliance is designed entirely digitally, through the construction of a customized upper "block" based on the desired therapeutic position. The purpose of this webinar will be to evaluate the potential applications of this device, which has the advantage of being highly versatile, thanks to the possibility of being combined with other aids, such as class II elastics or other fixed orthopedic devices.
