The course is divided into eight days and aims to guide participants in learning the science of surgical and prosthetic implantology, enabling them to immediately apply the numerous theoretical notions learned and the manual skills acquired during practical exercises.
To this end, the course will make use of the following teaching tools:
Theoretical lectures will cover the key topics in implantology in depth, from the pioneers' early experiences to the most advanced applications of implantology, such as the clinical use of growth factors. Upon completion of the course, students will have comprehensive surgical and prosthetic training, enabling them to plan and successfully resolve any clinical cases they encounter.
Practical exercises on animal tissue and simulators, during which the previously discussed surgical and prosthetic techniques will be put into practice. To refine mucogingival surgery techniques, specially prepared fresh pig heads will be used. Each student, guided by the instructor, will personally place at least eight implants on surgical simulators, using real surgical kits, templates, and implant handpieces. The prosthetic exercises will be conducted with the aid of specially designed simulators, on which each student will take real impressions with individual transfers and trays, insert the appropriate abutments, and try out the prosthetic superstructures, guided step-by-step by the instructor.
High-resolution video projection, to observe under magnification numerous oral surgery and implantology procedures performed by the speaker.
Live surgery, during which each student will solve at least two simple implant prosthetic cases under the careful guidance of the speaker, from pre-surgical planning to prosthetic completion.
