Thin ridges present a challenging task for the clinical implantologist, both in terms of achieving adequate bone expansion and optimal implant aesthetics. Moderate ridge expansion with osteotomes is preferred in less complex cases, while significant ridge expansion with split crest is preferred in cases of significant ridge atrophy. What are the indications and contraindications for split crest surgery? How should thin mandibular ridges be treated? What are the advantages of the Magnetic Mallet compared to traditional techniques using hammer and chisels? How should potential intraoperative complications be managed?
When and why is it best to opt for horizontal GBR techniques? These and other questions will be answered during this two-day course. The course, aimed at a maximum of 12 participants, aims to teach the most modern surgical techniques for the surgical treatment of thin ridges. The course is decidedly practical, and includes a theoretical explanation of each individual technique, discussion of numerous clinical cases, high-resolution videos, and the immediate performance of surgical procedures on specially prepared animal tissue.
