Evolution in implant dentistry

Implant dentistry is a dynamic field that is constantly evolving. One current concept gaining momentum is the use of digital technology in either implant placement or site preparation. Integrating imaging techniques, such as cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) and the Intra-oral scanning, allow for precise 3D visualization of the oral structures, aiding in both implant placement and site preparation which aid to the accuracy and predictability.

Additionally, regenerative techniques in implant dentistry are well explored to promote the regeneration of lost hard and soft tissue. This includes the use of growth factors, tissue engineering, and biomaterials to enhance the body’s natural healing processes. This evolution provided us the clinicians a great source of possibilities in successfully treating our cases and communicating better between us as healthcare providers and with our patient leading to more favorable outcome.
