Graduated as a dental technician in 1978. He began his career as a laboratory owner in 1984 in Bologna. He was an AIOP director in 2019-2020. He is a member of the American Prosthodontic Society. He is the scientific director of Quintessenza Odontotecnica. His practice, primarily focused on the use of composites and ceramics in all their aspects, both metal-free and metal-ceramic, including implantology, is carried out at the Castellano Dental Laboratory, of which he is the owner. He collaborates with the Conservative Dentistry Department (director: Prof. L. Breschi) of the Dental Clinic of the University of Bologna on the creation of aesthetic adhesive prostheses and follows advanced research projects as part of the Master's Degree in Aesthetic Conservative Dentistry. He also collaborates with Prof. L. Breschi on the development of minimally invasive aesthetic projects. Passionate about photography and computer science related to image processing, he uses these tools daily in his professional practice, constantly seeking the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics, leveraging modern technologies for diagnostics and modeling. He designed and created the "SmileApp" application for iPad, a virtual preview of smiles for the dentistry and dental technician sector. He uses digital technologies to support his daily practice. He is a speaker and author of national and international publications on prosthetics.
