Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Bologna in 1980. Active member of AIE (Italian Academy of Endodontics).

Full member of Amici di Brugg. He was a student of Dr. G. Di Febo (Prosthetics), Dr. G. Carnevale (Periodontics), Dr. N. Perrini (Endodontics), and Drs. Bruschi and Scipioni (ERE Technique). From 2000 to 2008, he taught and organized the Post-Graduate Specialization Course in Implantology at the University of Modena - Degree Course in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics. From 2010 to 2012, he was an external freelance collaborator in the Department of Periodontology and Implantology directed by Prof. Luigi Checchi, Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna. From 2011 to 2012, he taught and tutored the Master's Degree in Periodontology and Implantology directed by Prof. Luigi Checchi, Director of the Department of Periodontology at the Dental Clinic of Bologna. He has participated in multicenter studies on immediate loading in implantology. He teaches courses and lectures on implantology. He is particularly interested in implant surgery for atrophic jaws using guided bone regeneration (GBR), split-crest, and sinus lift techniques (large and mini lifts). He has been using alveolar preservation techniques with immediate or delayed implant placement in post-extraction sites for years. He practices private practice in Modena, focusing primarily on implant prosthetics and implant surgery.
