He graduated in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics from the University of Palermo in 2004 and specialized in Orthodontics at the University of Ferrara in 2007. He was a research fellow at the same university from 2005 to 2011 and an adjunct professor from 2010. From 2012 to 2019, he was a Researcher at the University of Ferrara and a member of the European Board of Orthodontics. In April 2019, he became an Associate Professor at the University of Ferrara. He has been Director of the Specialization School in Orthodontics at the University of Ferrara since 2019. He has been Coordinator of the Degree Program in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics at the University of Ferrara since 2021.
