Today, skeletal anchorage, represented by orthodontic miniscrews, is undoubtedly an indispensable and efficient tool for managing complex orthodontic cases. This course provides a rational and practical approach to the use of miniscrews for anchorage control. The key points of the clinical methodology for insertion, removal, and immediate orthodontic use will be illustrated through various clinical cases.
An exciting two-day course, where participants will appreciate the ease of insertion and application in extraction cases, impacted teeth, pre-prosthetic cases, and the correction of complex Angle Class II and III malocclusions. Special attention will be paid to its multiple uses in the palatal region. Numerous clinical cases will clarify the concepts of rapid expansion with skeletal anchorage, along with the advantages and disadvantages. The theoretical and practical study of guided surgery will provide participants with an understanding of how to insert miniscrews predictably and safely.
Finally, protocols for clear aligner cases will be presented, focusing on the most recently described locations: the buccal shelf and the infrazygomatic ridge. The course will be complemented by two hands-on sessions, simulating the insertion of orthodontic miniscrews at both the interradicular and palatal levels, including modeling the sectionals in the miniscrew slots and using surgical guides.
